Bill Gessner
I am a candidate for reelection to the Meridian Ranch Metropolitan District Board of Directors.
Experience: I have been a resident in Meridian Ranch since 2006. I am a retired soldier and civil servant. During my career, I led organizations with multimillion dollar budgets.
I began serving on the Meridian Ranch Metropolitan District board in 2015. During that time, the District has nearly doubled in size. I believe my efforts on the board have contributed to the District managing this expansion in a responsible and cost-effective manner.
I have been involved with the improvements at the Recreation Center. The most significant were the addition of the indoor pool and changing the operation from a YMCA contract to District employees. The latter decision has saved the community thousands of dollars which have been used to improve the operation.
If elected, these are my priorities:
1. Continue to get the best value for the water and wastewater systems. We do this by investing in maintaining existing infrastructure, adding required services, and avoiding unnecessary expenses.
2. Maintain and improve the Recreation Center, parks, and other common areas.
3. Helping balance the competing requirements for new services and keeping costs down. We do this by a careful analysis of costs versus benefits.
With your votes, I will help ensure Meridian Ranch continues to be a great place to live.
