Swim Lessons 

Group swim lessons with five levels (Jellyfish to Green Turtle) on various days and times, focusing on different skills.

Group Swim Lesson Level Guide:

 You and I: Jellyfish

● Focus: Trust and water comfort.

○ Assisted kicking○ Assisted back floats

○ Assisted wall crawls

○ Blowing bubble and putting face in the water

* Parent-directed class for infants (ages 1 year old and up)

.Level 1: White Otter

 ● Focus: Trust and submersion.

○ Assisted front and back kicking

○ Assisted wall crawling

○ Assisted back floating

○ Jumping in the water with bubbles

○ Assisted water comfort 

* To advance to the next level, kids should be comfortable kicking. They should also be able to put their whole head in the water without reluctance. 

Level 2: Red Crab

● Focus: Body position and air recovery.

○ Unassisted back floating○ Assisted front floating

○ Unassisted wall crawling

○ Jumping into the water with back float recovery

○ Assisted front and back kicks 

* To advance to the next level, kids should be able to float on their back without assistance. Some level of kicking comfort.

 Level 3: Yellow Pufferfish 

● Focus: Forward movement and direction change.

○ Assisted front and back kicking

○ Streamline formation

○ Front and back floating

○ Unassisted front and back streamline kicking

○ Assisted treading○ Jumpinging in and floating 

* To advance to the next levels, kids should be able to perform all level skills without the help of an instructor. Kids should also demonstrate exceptional water safety skills in both shallow and deep water. 

Level 4: Blue Shark

● Focus: Rotary movement.

○ 12 yards assisted front kicking

○ 12 yards assisted freestyle

○ 12 yards assisted backstroke

○ Unassisted treading

○ Unassisted back floating 

* To advance to the next level, kids should be able to swim freestyle and backstroke without assistance, safely. Kids must also tread water for 15 seconds and be comfortable in deep water. 

Level 5: Green Turtle

● Focus: Integrated movement.

○ 25 to 50 yards freestyle

○ 25 to 50 yards backstroke

○ 100 yards choice swim

○ Tread water for 30 seconds to 1 minute

 * To advance to the next level, kids should be able to swim 50 yards freestyle and 50 yards backstroke. Kids should also be able to swim 100 yards of a stroke of choice safely with good technique. 

* After successfully completing all swim lesson requirements, kids may then try out for swim team prep. The tryout consists of:➢ 50 yards freestyle ➢ 50 yards backstroke➢ 100 yards choice stroke without stopping
