Statement Regarding Use of Body Cameras During In-Home Visits

To our valued residents,

 We want to take a moment to address recent questions and concerns regarding the use of body cameras by our technicians during in-home visits.

The safety of both our residents and employees is a top priority, and we are committed to maintaining a respectful and professional standard of service at all times. To that end, we have implemented the use of body cameras when a single technician is required to enter a residence. This approach allows us to:

  • Ensure accountability and transparency during service visits;
  • Keep costs down for residents by reducing staffing needs - cutting costs by 50% when one technician with a body camera is used instead of sending two employees.
  • Maximize efficiency, enabling us to serve more homes in a timely manner without compromising safety.

Footage from body cameras is removed daily and securely stored on a stand-alone hard drive, accessible only with District Manager authorization, and only in the event of a specific complaint or incident.

So far, we’ve received overwhelmingly positive feedback from residents who appreciate our technicians’ professionalism, punctuality, friendliness, and willingness to answer questions.

We understand that preferences vary, and we want residents to feel comfortable during in-home visits. While the use of a single technician with a body camera is our preferred and most cost-effective approach, we are happy to accommodate requests for two employees instead, subject to availability.

Our aim is to provide high-quality service in a way that is both comfortable for residents and fiscally responsible for the District.

Thank you for your continued trust and cooperation.
